Re: Young Justice~The Battle

Zoe was up real early the next day. Well, maybe she never even slept since she was up all night gathering supplies and getting the plans ready for when she and Bart were going to go to Pine Hill to find her dad. Around 7 AM she was outside the apartment complex Diggle and Lyla lived in waiting for Bart. She was clad in black, her hair in a low ponytail, and she had a gun on her side with plenty of extra bullets. It would be kinda nice to be able to use her gun again. She just really, really hoped it wasn't against her dad...

She shook the thoughts from her mind and called Bart to make sure he was ready and on his way. She had texted him this morning to make sure and she got a thumbs up as a response. Yeah, she knew he hated mornings.


In Gotham, Bruce was awake and he walked to Analeigh's room to wake her up. He walked in and over to her bed where he gently shook her shoulder. "Analeigh, time to get up. Time for breakfast and then training."

Bart didn't exactly have time to pick up as he showed up outside Diggle and Lyla's appartment the next second. He stopped and saw her holding her phone to her ear. "Really? Thought I wouldn't make it?" He teased her lightly. He was in his Impulse attire. Yeah, he hated mornings, but he knew this was important to her so he had woken up early to shake the tiredness from his head.


Analeigh groaned and she sat up in bed. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, a bit confused and she glanced at the time. 7AM. She repeated in her head what her father said she knew he wasn't just saying that. Guess he didn't waste anytime to kickstart her training... This was her new morning routine. Analeigh stretched her arms before getting out of bed to get ready and and then meet him in the kitchen. Analeigh got into some workout clothes and put her dark hair in a ponytail.

Bruce and Dick were already in the kitchen when she got there. It was not a good feeling to see Alfred be absent from there. She sat down by the table, trying to wake herself and not show how un ready she felt for this early morning training. She needed to convince them both she could do this.

It was a quick and effective breakfast, probably the plainest one she had. They then all went down to the Batcave to get started.

Zoe closed her eyes for a second when he flashed over to her and the wind whipped in her face. She blinked her eyes then before hanging up, saying, "I love you, but I know how you are in the mornings." But she was really glad he was there and willing to help her with all of this. "Got everything you need?"


Bruce went and grabbed two long, wooden batons and he gave one to her. "We're going to test out your reflexes first. See how you react and act towards attacks towards you," he told his daughter as he made some space between them. "One false move could mean immediate death. Its important that your reflexes are trained for any attack from any angle."

"Yeah, I'm all good to go," Impulse nodded before he asked. "You having second thoughts?" He was just worried about her.


Analeigh barley caught the staff before she listened carefully to what he said. "Right. Wouldn't want immediate death..." She muttered. Okay. He was really gonna go tough on her.

"Here, hold the staff like this. That gives you a good starting grip, both for defense and counter attack" Dick said, walking over and adjusting her hands on the staff so she didn't look like she were going to clean the floors with a broom or something. He then stepped back so that Bruce could proceed her first lesson.

"Okay." Analeigh nodded and gripped the staff a bit tighter.

"What? No, of-of course not," Zoe said, not meaning to stutter and cursed silently when she did. Okay, she wasn't having second thoughts, but she was feeling unsure about all this. What if her dad really had changed? What if he didn't remember her or never be the same? It was all really scary to think about.


Bruce slipped into a fighting stance. "I want you to come at me with the best moves you have. I'll counter and correct you," he told her. "Now, begin. Strike me."

Impulse grabbed her hands. "It's okay if you do. This isn't going to be easy. But, I'll be here for you. No matter what happens," He said.


Analeigh frowned. She didn't want to hurt him. But she suposed that possibilility were equal to cero. She looked at the staff in her hands and thought of what to do. She'd never striked anyone before and was sure she'd look pretty rediculous attempting to. She'd just have to try, wouldn't she? Determined, trying to feel like a badass when she really wasn't, Analeigh tightened the grip before she ran at her father, attempting to swipe his head before going for his legs.

Zoe looked at him before she hugged him tightly. "Has anyone ever told you how irritatingly perfect you are?" she teased him. He was really, really perfect in her eyes. How did she - someone with so many sins - end up with someone as amazing as him?


Bruce immediately saw through her plans, so when she swiped for his head, he ducked before stopping the attempt on his legs by hitting their batons together, causing hers to nearly fall out of her hands. "Not bad, but keep your aim lower. The point of his exercise is long-ranged combat, not so close."

Impulse was quite shocked at her words and he got squeezed before he hugged her back. "Well, no. More just the irritating part," He admitted with a small chuckle before he smiled down at her. "But thank you."


Analeigh almost lost her grip on the staff as well as her balance. She took a breath and listened. Okay. Long-ranged... Lower aim. "Got it." She said before stepping back, thinking of another approach.

Deciding on what to do, Analeigh took a somewhat better stance, trying to copy her father. She then tried to go for a hit in the gut.

Zoe smiled and pecked his lips before hopping onto his back. "Alright, Speedy, lets go," she teased him. She knew he hated being called that.


Bruce saw her attempt and he flipped over her before he swiped her legs with his feet, making her trip onto the ground. He was impressed with how quickly she adapted to her situation. "Very good. If I had not been quicker, I would have been hit. Its good to make your opponents unable to react, limit their choices."

Impulse rolled his eyes before he pulled his googles down and getting a grip around her eyes. He then ran off to their destination, hoping that this would turn out to be a good mission and not a devistating one for Zoe.


"Ugh," Analeigh grunted when she hit the ground, even though she caught herself with her hands. She turned around and sat on her butt, looking at her father when he explained to her. "Right. Eh, first try for everything right?" She said, a little embarresed she was so bad at fighting. She grabbed Bruce hand when he helped her up.
