Re: Young Justice - don't call them sidekicks

"What about Wally?" Robin looked at their team leader. He knew they had to talk to Batman about that too.


Jason, who had paused his video game, turned to look at Wally. "What? How did the mission go?! Did it work?!" He couldn't belive the pla actually worked.

"And are you alright sir? Your knee shouldn't be putting the pressure of your speed on it. You're still in recovery," Alfred insisted, not going to be upset about this as he walked over to look at the liquid that was the antidote for Artemis.

Artemis let Alfred take a look before she looked up at her boyfriend. "Did it work?" She asked, a bit more calm. If it did, why wasn't she called to the cave? Were were the rest of the team? Why did he run here? Something felt wrong.

Wally's hopeful smile faltered for a fraction of a second before he just shook his head and said, "Yes, it worked. This stuff will help you, Artemis. You're going to be cured." He had to do this fast. He wanted to make sure that she was going to be okay before the League found out what he did and possibly take him to jail. The pain in his leg didn't matter, but it didn't help that Alfred had brought it up.

Alfred frowned and looked over at miss crock. Wally seemed to want to take her first. "Shall I prepare the needle then?"

Artemis was still trying to take in the fact that she would be cured. "Um... Sure." This was all so crazy. She was still confused. Something seemed off... But she guessed she could be wrong.

"Does that mean I can give Zerena a call!?" Jason smiled, knowing it had to mean she was back too.

"No!" Wally told Jason, overhearing him say something about Zerena. "Um, no because she seemed really tired. It was a hard mission. Everyone was heading to bed when I saw them. You should call her tomorrow." Then he grabbed Artemis' hand. "Come on, babe. Its gonna be okay."

Jason pouted. Seriously? He crossed his arms and sighed. 

"Night time for you Master Todd!" Alfred called before taking the lead to the batcave to prepare the antidote. 

Artemis smiled a little and then walked off with him to follow Alfred. "Thank you," She said, looking up at Wally with a smile.

Oh, that smile didn't help the horrible feeling he had in his gut. "Don't thank me," he told her as he kissed her forehead. "I'd do anything for you, beautiful."

Artemis smiled and. Few minutes later they were down at the Batcave. Artemis was sitting in a chair as Alfred were careful to get everything into the syringe.

Artemis breathed out and leaned back in the chair. Her sleeve was pulled up. "I can't believe this nightmare is going to be all over." She admitted.

Robin only nodded, frowning a little bit. If anything, at least Artemis would be okay.

"I'm...gonna go put this somewhere safe," Zerena said, talking about the amulet in the box they had. She could take care of it until they handed the amulet over to the League. She was thankful that Artemis was going to be okay- really, she was - but at the cost of their friend's life. It was horrible to think about.

When she reached her room, she took out a suitcase from underneath her bed and placed the box inside. Then she held her hands up and put a protective charm around the box, so only she and her sister could open it. She then slid it back under her bed and got up, falling back onto the soft mattress. Man, what she'd give to have Jason there right now. Was he still up?

Taking out her phone, she texted him: Hey, J. You still up?


"I know," Wally smiled and moved the hair out of her forehead so he could kiss it. When Alfred approached, he moved back and saw him clean the area where they'd be injecting the serum.

"I do feel like we should wait for Master Bruce-" Alfred began, since everything about this screamed something was wrong.

"Al, please. Just do it. Bruce will be back soon and he'll probably already know," Wally pleaded. He just had to see the mysterious cure be injected into his girlfriend to know she was going to be okay.

Alfred saw his look and he sighed. "Alright, lets commence. Ready, Miss Crock?" he asked.
