"A good cause?" Dick repeated, arching an eyebrow. "What are you guys even doing here Kal? Setting up base. Your... men look like something from a mob. Are you helping people? Are you just trying to benefit yourselfs?"

"We are the only ones keeping this town in order, Dick. We help people out there who cannot help themselves. There are also people out there looking to take control and use the chaos for their advantage and we stop them," Kaldur told him. "If the situation gets messy to get the job done, then so be it."


Wally frowned, wanting to say yes even though he no longer felt at home there. "Its...better than out there," he told her, trying to sugar coat the bad news.

"Its not," Jackie said after watching Jason walk away. She gave Wally a look. "Its not safe here. Its obvious your friend has gone mental. He's changed. We need to be on our guard, so, Sam, I'll stay with you. Wally, go try and talk some sense into that fishy freak friend of yours."

Dick narrowed his eyes slightly. "Sounds like a dictatorship if you ask me"

"No, its all about diplomacy. This is not America; its barely even a democracy anymore. You can either accept it or stay out of it," Kaldur told Dick, narrowing his own eyes slightly.


"Alright, alright. Geez." Wally walked over to talk with Kaldur and Dick, all while thinking, Since when did she get sassy?

Jackie turned to Sam. "Come on, lets go rest up. I know you gotta be tired," she said.

"I understand, Kaldur. Just be careful with whom you're becomming," Dick warned him. He knew people changed but it felt like something had to happen.

"Oh, trust me. I am," Kaldur said. He saw Wally approaching and left, not wanting to discuss this any further.

"What did he say?" Wally asked after coming to stand by Dick, watching Kaldur turn the corner.


"Don't mention it. To anyone. Ever," Jackie said, putting her hands behind her head as she followed her. She didn't worry too much about getting a mattress. She really didn't feel like sleeping.

Dick sighed and turned to Wally when he approached. "Ugh. He believes they're doing the right thing. Doing what's necessary and what others arn't willing to do," He sighed. "I don't know, Wally."
