Jackie was ready to throw up. She had watched Dick quickly cut off Artemis' leg, because if she lost focus for even a second, she would have lost the nice lunch she actually had gotten from Albert. However, she was holding steady because of her special gift. When she activated it, it was like her senses dulled a bit. Pain, emotion, it all didn't bother her while she was in that state. It was weird, kinda like Jason could supress his emotions. It still wasn't pleasant. As soon as it was over, Jackie let go and huddled off to the side so she could take a breath without it being mixed with blood in the air.

'Don't do it, don't do it,' she told herself as she held her hand over her mouth. Her powers were still helping, but the sight was forever going to be burned into her mind.

"We're almost done, babe, just-just hold on," Wally told Artemis, holding her arms tightly to try and keep her steady. His stomach was doing flips and he felt his heart break when he saw how much pain she was in. When she had passed out, he held her and felt her forehead. She was burning up, her body was gonna go into shock if they didn't work quickly. "Jason! Come on!!"

Jason had to wait for a moment, despite the yells he was getting. His hands were hot, but it wasn't as hot as one would expect. His fireballs were just barely hot enough to burn things, but not melt things.
As such, he had to wait for the right moment to press them against Artemis leg, waiting for the precise second where the blood wasn't flowing, the moment where her heartbeat gave him room to close the wound without just getting a bunch of blood boiling hot and nothing more.
He waited. One heartbeat, and he missed it. Crap.
Another.
There.
The second the blood stopped coming out as if it were a hose, he put his hands against her flesh.

The smell was disgusting, and so was the smoke that came out. It was a smell he only enjoyed when it came from someone he really hated and wanted to hurt. This wasn't the case.

Once the heat was enough to close the whole wound, he stepped back and looked at the others.

Sadly, for all this to work, he couldn't be his calmer self. Being 'calm' about the situation would've activated his cold powers.
So, instead, he felt agitated, even a little bit nauseous. Emotional, and stressed.

Sam was waiting outside, and she was relieved she couldn't see what was going on.
Still, the sound of the saw cutting through Artemis' leg would forever be ingrained in her mind. She knew she'd hear this sound in her worst nightmares from now on.

"Is... Is everything alright?" she managed to ask after she didn't hear anything for a while. Her shaky voice cut the silence like a sharp knife.

Brooke grimaced at the smell but quickly dismissed that when Jason moved aside. She wet the cloth with alcohol and dried away the blood that was remaining, trying to get it as clean as possible before ah grabbed the other cloth and started wrapping around the end of her leg. Seeing the half of what used to be Artemis left leg just laying there was not a nice seight. She glanced at Wally, feeling the pressure of Artemis body possibly going into shock.

Dick turned when Sam came back and he was kinda surprised she came back so soon. His hands were still stained with blood. And the smell of burnt flesh was still in the air. He looked at Artemis and tried to read Wally's eyes who was feeling her forehead.

Wally was staying as calm as he could be given the circumstances. He felt Artemis' clammy forehead and knew her body was going into hypovolemic shock. Best cases were to do a blood transfusion or had some kind of fluid. "W-Water. I need water, now!"

Jackie fumbled for her bag on the ground and took out her canister full of somewhat clean water. "Here."

Wally took it and he began to feed Artemis the water. This would hopefully calm her body down so it didn't have a negative reaction. The adrenaline would eventually run off once she woke up and she would be in pain. "Okay, okay. T-That should do it. She will need rest and more fluids. Jackie, maybe you could go with Sam to find some clean water? Jason, can you go scour for some medicine, anything to help Artemis with the pain?"

Jason nodded and left right away. He had spotted a few vendors on the market hiding a few boxes of medicine, surely for more selected customers, but he didn't mind taking a few for himself.
It would be a good way for him to let off some steam and de-stress himself.

Sam nodded and looked at Jackie, waiting for her so they could go. She wasn't sure exactly where to get some, but she had an empty bottle in her bag, so she could fill that with whatever they found. It would make her feel useful as well, which she didn't mind.

"I'll help you get cleaned up." Brooke offered Dick, seeing he was still a bit shakey. After they did so they could prepare somewhere less bloody to put Artemis. She felt so bad for her, knowing how much pain she would be in once she regained consiousness.

It was getting late. Tensions had gone down, and now all they could do was wait. Jackie had retrieved enough water for Artemis and was kinda keeping her distance. It was still hard to see her wrapped up nub of a leg. She still felt responsible for what happened to her. Jade had asked her to keep Artemis safe. To find her, tell her what happened, and make sure they both survived. So now all Jackie could do was hope that their lunatic plan worked.

Wally hadn't left Artemis' side. He watched her sleep and was making sure she was comfortable. She was still out of it, so he, too, was just waiting. He wasn't one to pray, but even he was silently hoping - begging - for her to recover. For some kind of miracle.

"How's he doing?" Brooke asked, seeing Dick watching Wally who was still at Artemis side.

Dick looked at her from over his shoulder and turned to her. "Not good. He's stressed. He cares about her." Dick said, frowning. He wasn't sure his best friend could handle losing Artemis.

Brooke frowned. She felt bad about all of this. "I can tell." She said, looking down before looking back up at Dick. "And you? Are you still shaken?"

Dick rolled his shoulders, realizing he still had to seem tense. "Ah, yeah. A little." He admitted, thinking back to how he just.... Saw Artemis leg off.

"You did good. Artemis is gonna recover. She has too," Brooke said. She wasn't sure about that, but she... They all needed Artemis to recover.

Along with the water, Sam had stayed a bit longer outside, looking around the market. With some fresh fruit she managed to grow in a hidden alleyway, she got to trade for some special food she didn't think she'd find.

Now back at the camp, she was preparing it. The sweet smell of oatmeal began to fill the air, which she hoped would help. She had asked Jason for some help preparing a small fire so she could cook it, alongside some old milk that was luckily not spoiled, which she had managed to buy as well.
She glanced at Wally and Artemis, and she sighed. She didn't know if it had worked or not, but she sure hoped so.
Her sight soon shifted to Dick, seeing his worried, and kind of broken expression. A part of her wished she could go and give him a hug, telling him everything would be okay, and that he had been really brave.
But she quickly shook off that thought, wondering where it came from.

Jason walked up to Sam, looking at her as she crouched over the small pot she was using to cook.
"That smells good. Lemme know when that thing's ready" he told her, and without waiting for an answer, he walked over to Jackie.
"Tired?" he simply asked her, putting his hands in his pockets.

It took a second to register what Jason had said. Jackie snapped out of her thoughts before looking up at him. "Yeah, uh. Just a little. Had a hell of a day." This was the part where she wished she could hide her emotions as well as he and Dick could. She could only do so much before hitting a breaking point. She hadn't reached that point just yet, but if Artemis didn't recover then...

She shook her head and looked over at Sam. "Making oatmeal, is it? Haven't had that in forever."
