Dick sighed but let him be. He knew he just needed time.

Meanwhile Brooke had reached one of the empty buildings Wally talked about and it seemed to be a pretty good choice, so she had started cleaning some stuff up there so they could prepare to set up camp.

Sam walked back to what she thought was the group, only to see a puff of dirt and Dick standing alone.
"Uh... where are the others?" she asked as she put back on her backpack, now filled with different types of veggetables. Mostly a few potatoes, onions, a lettuce and a couple of tomatoes. Nothing much, but it was better than nothing.

Jason nodded. He was glad at least someone there got it.
"Heh, yeah" he agreed. "I think you gave it an honest try, though" he added. Then he shrugged.
"But guess it's just harder for some. Honestly, Wally is lucky we're a group now. If this had happened without us here, i'm not sure he would've made it past the first night after what happened" he said.

It sounded mean, sure, but he meant it. With how hard he was taking it, and how unfocused it had him, Wally on his own wouldn't manage to survive.
Jason was proud, though, that he wasn't like that. That he could push aside his weaknesses, his feelings, to do what had to be done.
Even if it meant leaving a bit of his humanity behind, it simply was what he had to do to stay alive for so long on hiw own.

"Well, damn," Jackie muttered. Although, he did have a solid point. What would have become of their fast footed friend if they hadn't been there?

"But.... I guess you're right," she said next. She then glanced at Jason, nervous to ask. "What...if it had been me? Would you be able to do it?"

Wally had ran a little to the West. Just needing to run it out. He knew that was how his uncle Barry dealt with his frustrations. He kept on running until he had managed to charge up enough lightning to throw a lightning bolt with a loud scream. He wanted and fell to his knees. Tears stung eyes, and a thunder clap was heard after he had thrown the bolt. Rain followed after and he just pounded at the dirt, angry, frustrated, and he felt helpless. He couldn't save her.

He killed her.

Brooke heard Jason and Jackie's voices in the distance, approaching the abandoned buildings. She walked to the entrance of the one she was checking out, and called for them. "Hey guys, over here!" Great, now they could help clean this place up.

(Haha, sorry. I love Brooke ruining their moments xD )

Dick sighed and looked at Sam. "Jason is with Jackie, they went that way to search for shelter. I sent Brooke ahead to some old buildings Wally found,speaking of who just took off... He just needs some space," He said, walking slowly and picking up some fire wood along the way.

Jackie's sighed out, kind of annoyed. " Okay! We'll be there in a second!" She looked back up at Jason. "Well, we better go help her."

Brooke walked back inside to keep working on cleaning that place up so they could stay a night or two. Hopefully getting some rest would do them all good. Yeah... That was optimistic. She knew this was gonna stick for a while.

Jason was about to reply to Jackie when he heard Brooke. He couldn't help to be relieved, as what he was about to say would've been a bit too open for him.
"Yeah" he agreed with a nod, placing his hands on his pockets. He did this mostly to hide the warmth they were releasing.

Sam helped him out as she heard him.
"Yeah... can't be easy. Poor Wally... " she said with a sigh.
After a moment of silence, she added.
"If you need some space, too, just let me know, okay?" she added with a faint smile, hoping she wasn't being a bother to him. If he needed to be alone, she'd leave without issue.

Jackie glance at him one more time before she went to help Brooke clean up the place. It did look kind of like a wreck inside. It was an old MacDonald building, so there were plenty of Open spaces for zombies to get in but hey, it would do just for a temporary stay. " First thing we need to do is to board up everything. The doors, the drive-thru window, all that, " she said as she pointed at all the Open spaces. It looks like the windows were already boarded up from someone else that tried to use that place as a base or something.

"Yeah, sounds right," Brooke agreed. She surprised herself every time she agreed with something Jackie said. "Let's use some of these boards." She said , walking over and seeing some old boards that seemed to have fallen down from being previous blockades.

Dick looked at her and appreciated it but he just gave her a small smile. "Someone needs to hold the group together." He said. "But thanks."

"Sounds like a plan" Jason said, as he took off his jacket. He wouldn't want to ruin it because of some handwork.
He enjoyed the process of picking up the boards, and dismantling some furniture to make more, as they barricaded the place. It kept his hands busy, and his mind as well.
At least, busy enough not to think about what Jackie had asked him. And the answer he had been about to blurt out without even thinking. He had to avoid thinking about is, as his hands grew warmer every time the words came back to his mind.
And the last thing they needed at that moment was a fire.

"It doesn't have to be you, ya' know?" Sam said. "That's a burden someone else can take. Or we can carry it, together" she added, emphasizing her words by taking some of the wood he was carrying off of his arms.
"We are a team after all, aren't we?" and with those words, Sam walked up ahead, so that he'd have some more space for himself. At least, for a little while.
