The oatmeal was getting cold. An hour had gone by. It felt slow, the tensions still high.
Sam was worried.
Not only about Artemis, but everyone else. She had noticed Jackie's expression, she seemed really troubled still. Couldn't blame her, she felt the same way.
Dick and Brooke had come back only a few minutes ago. Dick seemed awfully quiet. She frowned, wanting to talk to him, but didn't want to bother him either.
Still, she decided to get some food on a bowl and offer him. Maybe that would make him feel a little better, though she doubted it.

After filling a bowl, she walked up to him. A small, sympathetic smile on her face.
"Hey" she said, sitting next to him. "Thought you'd be hungry"

She never got an answer, as a loud noise distracted all of them. It was the makeshift door they had placed to protect the shelter they were in. Something, or more like, many somethings, were slamming against it.
Soon after, the grunting sounds they all knew too well followed. Crazies. Lots of them.
And after that, a laugh.

"Come out, children. This place isn't safe for you. Let me give you a hand. I have plenty" a voice echoed, despite it coming from outside. It sounded like a man, with a deep, charismatic voice. Someone who was clearly teasing them.

The slamming got louder and louder, and before anyone could react, the door fell. And so, they were suddenly able to see a group of about 15 Crazies, and a guy in front of them. He had red eyes, long white hair, and a devilish smile on his face. A long black coat hanged from his shoulders, the sleeves empty as he was wearing it more like a cloak.
He looked around the place, and then, after a simple nod, the Crazies behind him charged at the group.

"Fuck!" Jackie had already been on her feet when the banging began. Her tail emerged from her back as her eyes turned black and red, ready for whatever was coming for them. Well, she thought she was ready. As soon as she saw the 15 Crazies behind the crazy looking dude, she knew they were outnumber. "Run! Move your asses!" she told the others, going to hang back a bit to try and stop any Crazies.

Wally didn't waste any time picking Artemis up in his arms to run out of there. "Hold onto me," he told Artemis, starting to go towards the back since they made an emergency exit. Only problem was, as soon as he ran out, one Crazy jumped them. It got his legs and so the two tumbled down onto the ground. Wally quickly reacted, grabbing the Crazie's neck when it tried to bite him. "Son of a bitch! Get off!" he growled, getting his legs under and shooting it away. "Artemis!?" he called, looking frantically for her.

Brooke had turned when everything became frantic. Oh great. She just about had it with bad news latley. But she heard Jackie, there was no way they could fight all of those. Her eyes quickly fell on the guy that seemed to be,... no. He was not a crazie and he seemed to be, leading them? His eyes were red, but... that wasn't possible. No one could control a crazie...

She snapped out of her one second stare and slid on the ground, dodging one of the crazies that came at her and grabbing her backpack. She grabbed her gun out of it. She didn't have many bullets, so she would defiently save on those. Putting the gun in her pant pocket, she grabbed a big twig and broke it off on her knee before stabbing one of the crazie's jumping her with it through the head.

Artemis grunted slightly and used her hands to sit up, she couldn't just get up and run now since she was missing half a leg, but she saw she landed not too far from her bow. Reaching over she was able to grab it and shot one crazie before it could get to her.

Dick sprung into action, pushing Sam down before taking some cover by flipping a table over. He reached for his batons, that he still keept, but only had time to grab one before getting tackled.

Sam gasped when Dick pushed her down. As she tried to understand what was going on, she saw Dick getting tackled by a Crazy.
"Dick!" she screamed, her hair suddenly growing leaves, as her powers sprung out of control for a moment. The ground underneath her shook, as some unknown roots began growing underground, making their way up. A moment later, one branch came out, grabbing the Crazy that was on top of Dick, growing around him and crushing him a little so it would stop attacking.

Jason was taken by surprise, just like anyone, but oh he was happy. His hands were cold, as today wasn't a very fun day, but he didn't mind. As a couple of Crazies attacked him, his fists froze with icy spikes. He punched them, happily hurting them as much as he could.

The man with the red eyes was still standing at the door, smiling calmly at the scene.
"Oh, what fun" he said with a dramatic sigh, his hands behind his back.
For a moment he stood there, admiring the action, before his amused look shifted for a moment. His eyes looked around the room.
"Huh... i sense..." he muttered to himself, yet no one was close enough to hear.

Jackie was towards the back where she saw more Crazies start to come in. They were trying to block their escape routes. What exactly was going on!? She couldn't think of the 'what' or 'who's' right now. She had to just survive.

One Crazie came at her, screaming out and tried to grab her when she jumped up and round-housed kicked it away. Another came up behind her and she used her tail to wrap itself around it before tossing it into another round of Crazies headed her way. When she turned, she noticed the creepy guy turning his head, as if he was sensing something. He wasn't there for her, was he? Did he know she was immune?

Again, she nearly got distracted and just barely blocked the Crazie's attack on her. It almost bit her if she hadn't let her tail get in the way of his mouth. "Get OFF!" she growled. She using her tail to lift him and then splattered him down onto the ground.

Wally quickly made his way back over to Artemis, going to shield her. "You okay?!" he asked, seeing how she was still fighting by using her bows and arrows. That's his girl. One Crazie lunged and he spun, kicking it back before he saw more on their way. "Crap, crap..."

"Yeah, for now anyway.... Is that guy. Controling them?" Artemis asked, also having noticing the man, that did not act like a crazie, but he defiently didn't look like a healthy human either. She grabbed another arrow, but she didn't have unlimited supply of those either....

Dick was surprised by how Sam just probably saved him from getting bit. He saw more comming and he quickly rolled over, seeing his utility belt. He knew he had a smoke bomb in there. He rolled and grabbed it before throwing it down. It was a big one, and it would be enough to cover the room. And full transformed Crazies, did not have the best eyeseight as they moved on sound, so hopefully it would give them a little cover. "We need to get out of here, now!"

"No kidding," Brooke agreed. She still was convinced that guy had something to do with this sudden attack. And why wasn't he being attacked? There were a lot of questions in her head right jow.

Sam was taken by surprise when the smoke bomb exploded. Sure, the Crazies couldn't see, but neither did she, and she wasn't as good at remembering places to move around without a problem.
"Uh...G-Guys?" she looked around, knowing she couldn't make noise if she wanted to get away, but she also didn't know exactly where to go.

Jason noticed when Dick went for his belt and used the smoke bomb. He couldn't help to scoff under his breath. Classic.
He blasted with ice one Crazy that was close by right before the smoke bomb went off. There went his fun. Now they had to get out of there.

As the team was getting ready to get away from there, using the smoke bomb as distraction, they all heard the man's voice echoing across the room. He was laughing.
"Oh, what fun." he said. The sound of his hands clapping followed.
"I sense you're all hiding a little secret here" he said. He had finally realized what was the thing he had noticed. "Someone here is rather special, am i right?"
He was playing it vague, of course. He loved doing that, causing confusion. It wasn't the first time he had done something similar, but it was his first time catching one so fresh. Sensing someone slowly turning into a Crazy felt like a thrill he hadn't felt before. He could feel the power he had over them growing. Someone there, and he knew who, would soon join his army.
As the seconds passed, he made his first attempt. He tried to force her to move her arm. His control wasn't complete yet, but he wanted to test the waters first.

Jackie clanced over her shoulder when she heard the man speak. " Who the hell is that guy?!"

"Who cares, let's just get away from here as fast as possible! " Wally said as he made sure that both Artemis and Brooke were right behind him as they ran.

Artemis felt the finger on her hand tighten her bow, but she wasn't doing it. Staring down in shock she made eye contact with the enemy, who seemed to be controling the crazies, he was looking straight back at her, and she didn't like the way he looked at her. It was as if he was staring right through her, she couldn't explain it, but something wasn't right. "Uh, guys? She felt her hand shaking as she tried to regain control over her muscles.

(We're still doing the plan right which is gonna make me cry forever haha?)
