Sam sighed and looked up for a moment.
"Jason went... a little too far" she explained "but at least we got out, thanks in no small part to him doing that" she added, knowing that if he hadn't taken out so many of those Crazies, probably most of them wouldn't even be there now.
She looked back at him, and couldn't help to smile a little when she noticed he looked a bit more focused and awake. That was a good sign.

Jason took a second before he hugged Jackie back, feeling oddly warm when he felt her clinging to his shirt.
He pulled back a little when he noticed Brooke walking towards them, and once she talked to them and passed by, he looked down at Jackie.
"Wanna go with the others?" he asked, not sure if she wanted some time alone, or maybe she wanted to stay there with him, or go with the rest.

Wally remained in the small patch of clearing for a while, just holding Artemis. He knew that he should go ahead and bury her, or do something, but he just wanted to stay there with her.

"I-If it's okay, I want to stay with you," Jackie whispered. She felt like back when the whole apocalypse started. She felt...

Hopeless.

"Oh-okay." Dick nodded, too tired to ask more about what that could mean right now. He kinda could guess it had something to do with fire. "I should, ugh. Sit up." Dick said, slowly trying to sit up.

That's when Brooke come back to them. "You okay?" She asked Dick. Seeing him slowly sit up. She realised he didn't know so she tried to hide her facial expression.

"Y-yeah. Head banging, but I will be okay," Dick said, before seeing her alone. "A-are the others okay?"

Sam, both worried and trying to avoid the question, put her hands gently against his chest.
"Woah, easy there, you don't need to sit just yet. Let's get you a better place to lie down" she said, looking around, trying to see if she could find anything or anywhere where he could stay for a bit until he got better.

Jason nodded quietly. "We can do that" he said with a nod, and seeing her expression made him frown.
He wasn't the best at giving encouraging or kind words, so he just did what came natural at the moment, placing the palm of his hand against her cheek, holding it gently. He worried his cold hand would be uncomfortable for her, so he did it slowly, so she'd have time to move away if she disliked that gesture.

Jackie was a little shocked at the slightly intimate gesture. But she didn't pull away. Instead, she placed her hand on top of his and cradled her cheek into his hand.

Jason really wasn't a bad guy. He was just a little rough around the edges, but he was kind, and caring.

Brooke noticed Sam avoiding the questions and she took that invitation, for now. She only nodded before bending down. "Sam, get his other arm." She said, getting one of Dick's arms around her neck. They couldn't exactly carry him and if she knew Dick right he would insist on being able to stand, which he did. The two girls slowly helped him back to his feet, making sure he was okay with standing.

"Thanks," he thanked the girls, holding onto them for support since he still felt lightheaded and he probably had a lighter concussion. As they helped Dick move away from the smell and burn ashes Brooke kept thinking about how she needed to check on Wally. It took all her composure to just keep it together.

"Your both so quiet," Dick noticed the tension for sure. Also he didn't see the others. "Y-you never said what happened?" He inquired again.

Sam thanked Brooke's help. They soon found a nice shade next to an abandoned-looking building near of where they were. She didn't want them going in, just in case someone was hiding inside, but a wall and shadow was good enough for now.
As they set Dick down, Sam looked at Brooke. She gave her a nod, ready to tell him, and trying for her to understand that she could go. Someone had to be with Wally.
"I'll handle this" she told her.
She knelt down next to Dick, checking his wound, making sure he seemed fine.
"Well, uh..." she began to explain. "Jackie and Jason are close by, and so is Wally..." she fell quiet for a moment, her mouth going dry. She didn't know how to say it, but she knew she had to.

Jason couldn't help to smile a little for a second, relieved she didn't mock him or retreat. He moved one step closer to her.
Still, the situation wasn't ideal, and he just wanted her to feel comforted. He couldn't bring Artemis back and, sadly, there wasn't anything any of them could've done.

At the very least, he just wished it was him who would've ended her life instead of Wally, just so his friend wouldn't have to live with that from now on. Jason felt he was stronger than him in that sense, at least.

Jackie looked up at him aw he moved just a slight bit closer to her. She had started to become calm now, but now her heart started beating as if it was going to beat out of her chest.

(Yeah, totally romantic after just crying your ass off after a friend of yours died by another friend shooting them in the head...xD)

Brooke made sure Dick sat down alright before seeing the nod Sam gave her. She nodded before walking off. She wasn't sure Wally wanted to see anyone yet, but she at least wanted to check on him. You never knew how people reacted to death. I mean, she knew how she acted, but that didn't mean he was the same. And Artemis was somone he really cared for, that he loved. She couldn't imagine how he was feeling, especially since she figured out that he must have been the one to pull the trigger as she remembered seeing Artemis attack him before the smoke had started.

She passed by Jackie and Jason again. "Dick's alright, just so you know. Thanks J," Brooke said, giving a small nod. She knew they both wouldn't have been able to withstand those crazies without his help, even if he lost control over his powers. She didn't even smile though, nor did she make any remark to how close the two were standing. She just past to walk back to where she had seen Wally, thinking about if she should say anything to him or just check so that he was alright. Who was she kidding? As alright as one would be after just shooting the love of your life.

Dick noticed how she left out Artemis name so he had to ask. "And Artemis? Is she with Wally?" He asked, feeling more awake now, even though his head was still hurting.

((definitely not very romantic, but also it does give one the feeling of "next one could be me, so we better do it now" lol!))

Jason was leaning closer to Jackie, when he heard steps walking closer.
He quickly took a few steps back, and saw Brooke walking past them.
"No problem" he replied with a nod as well, and watched her walk to where Wally was.
Jason cleared his throat, feeling slightly awkward as his coldness came back to him. He was completely unsure of what someone did in these circumstances, what Jackie was expecting of him.

"Yeah, she is..." Sam replied with a frown, looking down. She took a moment, waiting a bit, before taking a deep breath.
"She didn't make it, Dick... I'm sorry" she finally said. She didn't really want to explain everything. Probably that was better for Wally to tell. But she wasn't going to lie to him.
